Nitish Kumar Reddy rubbishes claims of parting ways with SRH
After a bout of intense speculation, Nitish Kumar Reddy has come forward to refute the rumors of the all-rounder leaving the SRH camp. The Indian pace all-rounder swiftly rose through the ranks, thanks to an impressive run with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. As SRH concluded the season as the runners-up, Reddy found his way into the national team on the back of his brilliant season. However, days after the conclusion of a disappointing IPL 2025 season, reports emerged signaling Reddy's plans to leave the franchise ahead of the next season.
Nitish Kumar Reddy denies rumors of parting ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad
After a successful run in IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to emulate similar dominance in the league this season. The unit did not fire collectively as anticipated and managed to win just six matches out of the 14 league-stage fixtures. Nitish Kumar Reddy, meanwhile, was one of the five prospects retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The young pace all-rounder was retained for 6 crore along with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, Heinrich Klaasen, and Travis Head. However, similar to his team, Reddy also experienced a tough run in the season.
As the all-rounder struggled with an injury concern in the ongoing India vs England Test series, speculation arose about his potential exit from SRH. Nitish Reddy joined the India squad for the England tour, where he played two Tests. However, the youngster was ruled out of the series ahead of the Manchester Test due to a knee injury. Reddy has returned home in the middle of the series, aiming to start his recovery quickly.
“I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team,” Nitish Kumar Reddy wrote on X.
However, soon after his return, Reddy took to social media to dash the rumors brewing about his IPL career. The all-rounder noted that some topics demand clarity, and him leaving SRH was one of them. Reddy categorically denied the possibility of any such update. The youngster termed his bond with Sunrisers Hyderabad as one built on trust and respect, as he clarified that he will always stand by the team.
