Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has run into legal trouble following his abrupt return to India from the England tour. The young pace all-rounder was ruled out of the India vs England Test series after sustaining a knee injury ahead of the Manchester Test. With two fixtures still remaining in the five-match series, Reddy was sent back home to begin his recovery from the injury he sustained while working out in the gym. However, his return home has brought additional problems, as a case has been filed against him over unpaid dues amounting to INR 5 crore.

Talent management company drags Nitish Kumar Reddy in legal trouble over unpaid dues

According to recent reports, a Bengaluru-based talent management company, Square The One, has lodged a complaint against the Indian cricketer. The company initiated proceedings against him, alleging that Reddy failed to settle dues exceeding INR 5 crore. The case, reported as, M/s Square The One Pvt. Ltd. Through Its Director Sh. Shiv Dhawan vs Nitish Kumar Reddy, is currently pending judicial review and is listed for hearing in the Delhi High Court on July 28, 2025.

Another report updated some details in the case. Shiv Dhawan, the director of the talent management company, confirmed awareness of the ongoing issue but refrained from making any additional statements. The petition, filed under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, accuses Nitish Kumar Reddy of violating a management contract and failing to pay the outstanding amount. The cricketer is said to have ended his three-year partnership with the agency during last year’s Border Gavaskar Trophy. Once a frequent presence in their social media campaigns, his absence from such promotions since December has been noted.

Meanwhile, on the cricketing front, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the final two India vs England Tests after injuring his left knee. The setback comes after the bowling all-rounder participated in two of the first three matches of the series. After missing out on the Headingley Test, Reddy made it into the India Playing XI for the Edgbaston Test and the third Test at Lord's. While Reddy remained in the shadows at Edgbaston, the all-rounder made crucial contributions in the Lord's Test. Now, as per an official statement from the BCCI, he has returned home to begin his rehabilitation.
