What next for Ange Postecoglu with Tottenham Hotspur? Here is what he said
The poster boy of the cold and confident statement, “I win in the second season,” Ange Postecoglou has lived up to his words. After a turbulent Premier League campaign that could still see Tottenham Hotspur finish as low as 17th, the club managed to deliver silverware to their fans by lifting a European trophy. Postecoglou becomes the first manager in over three decades to secure a European title for Spurs. With a Champions League spot now sealed, all eyes will be on the Australian tactician as he heads into his highly anticipated third season at the helm.
Speaking to the media, Ange Postecoglou mentioned that his focus was always on the continental title, but he also emphasized the importance of building a strong and balanced squad. He acknowledged that while the current team is young and talented, experience is crucial as they head into the Champions League next season. He said:
I've had such a laser focus on winning this, whatever happens, happens. We're still building this team. It's a young team, we need to add experience and now we are in the Champions League. I've been trying to build a team that can be challenging for the next four or five years.
When asked about his future in North London, the Australian tactician said the decision was not entirely in his hands. He acknowledged that while the job is far from finished, he still holds the belief that he can help deliver more success to the Lilywhites. He said:
I'm the manager of the football club, that decision is not in my hands. All I know is having this around my neck [the medal] means we have won a trophy. I don't feel I have completed the job. We're still building. Since I came here I had the belief of trying to win something and we have done that and I want to build on it.
What's next for Tottenham Hotspur?
