Manchester United are struggling badly. The fans didn't expect in their wildest dreams that they would slump to 15th spot at the end of a Premier League season. Despite spending a huge sum of money to sign the best talents in world football, they haven’t been able to bring back the glory days. Over the past few seasons, United have splurged money to sign players like Antony, Sancho etc. but only a few of these signings have gone on to deliver meaningful results for the club.

Meanwhile, former Netherlands footballer Ruud Gullit reckons that the problem lies with the club and not the players. He thinks that there is something wrong with the club, as whoever leaves the club starts playing well. Guilt took the names of Marcus Rashford, MacTominay, and Antony to support his remark.

"Everyone who leaves Manchester United suddenly plays great at their new club. Scott McTominay at Napoli, Marcus Rashford at Aston Villa, and Antony at Real Betis. Manchester United is the problem, 100%."

Scott McTominay joined Napoli last summer and looked like a completely different player compared to how he was perceived at United. Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United on July 23 and has looked promising since.

Manchester United remain winless after first two 2025–26 Premier League matches

The Red Devils haven’t managed to start the new season as well as they would have liked. United began the season with a 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford. There were a few positives for the side, but the result didn't go in their favour.

United played their second game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday. They squandered the lead and had to settle for a 1-1 draw, thus remaining winless in their first two matches.

“I think we scored the Rgoal and then we forgot about how we play. We want to win so badly, and that is a good feeling, that we scored a goal and everyone on the pitch was thinking, 'Let's hold onto the advantage and try to win the game'. For me that is the moment that we have to enjoy more and push the opponent.” Ruben Amorim said after the game.

Manchester United will play their next Premier League clash against Burnley at Old Trafford Stadium on 30th August 2025.
