Manchester United pipped Athletic Bilbao in the second leg 4-1 to make it to the finals. Mason Mount starred in the Manchester United victory with two goals. Talking about Mason Mount’s performance, Manchester United gaffer Ruben Amorim mentioned that he is happy for the player. He also mentioned that Mason Mount has worked really hard and with the quality he possesses, coaches just want to help him. Ruben also mentioned his change in routine like eating well and having ice baths.

While also attributing his qualities, Ruben Amorim mentioned that he can be a midfielder but also plays like a winger, which is an added advantage to the side. Amorim said:

Ruben Amorim did not hold back his appreciation for Kobbie Mainoo. The Portuguese mentioned that despite the player having ten minutes on the pitch, he impressed everyone. Amorim applauded:

What happened in the second leg between Manchester United and Athletic Bilbao?
With Athletic Bilbao trailing by three goals, they started pressing high with their focus on getting an early goal. While Manchester United faced some nervy moments, they went without conceding a goal for the first half an hour. However, Mikel Jauregizar scored the first goal to reduce the deficit and sent the message that the game is not over yet.
In the second half, Manchester United looked defensively solid while also coming close to scoring the goals. Mason Mount, Casemiro, and Hojlund were on the scoresheet post the 70th minute to win the game 4-1.
