Amad Diallo opens up on his frustrations during his early seasons at Manchester United
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has opened up about his time at the club in an interview with a sports outlet. The player sounded happy and cheerful, now getting regular game time compared to earlier seasons, where, despite showing promise, he struggled for minutes. In the interview, Amad mentioned that Ruben Amorim has been instrumental in getting his Manchester United career back on track.
Speaking to the media, the Ivory Coast international said that ever since he started getting game time, he has been playing for the club and living up to his potential. He also gave full credit to the manager for trusting him and expressed his gratitude. Amad Diallo said:
Since I got that game time, I showed everyone I can play for this club,
That was the only thing I didn’t have at the beginning when I arrived here. Now I have a manager who believes in me, who trusts me, so I’m grateful for everything he did for me. Now it’s for me to play everything on the pitch.
Amad Diallo had to wait over three seasons to secure regular game time in Manchester United colors. In his first year at Old Trafford, he was still developing and adjusting, and later had to go on loan spells to Rangers and Sunderland in an attempt to prove himself. Despite flashes of promise, those stints did not result in consistent minutes. Speaking about his lack of opportunities, Amad admitted feeling frustrated by the situation. However, he also expressed his gratitude towards current manager Ruben Amorim, stating that he is doing everything he can to repay the coach's faith whenever he steps onto the pitch. He said:
You have a little bit of frustration,
But I think now it’s because the manager believes in me. He believes in my potential. I’m trying to repay his confidence every time I’m on the pitch
