Three Tests have been played so far in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Interestingly, it has been a run-scoring fest with batters enjoying their time in the middle. Both teams have piled on massive totals in the three Tests with different batters standing up on different occasions. India have scored a 500-run total once in the series, while both teams have posted 400-plus totals on five occasions combined.

As many as eight batters are averaging over 50, while 12 hundreds and one double-hundred have been scored so far. England have won two Tests, leading the three-match series 2-1. The fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford starts tomorrow. In this article, let’s take a look at five top-run getters in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy:

1. Shubman Gill: 607 runs at 100

Shubman Gill is leading the way with the bat. Making his captaincy debut, Gill has smashed a truckload of runs in the series. There were concerns over his ability to play in English conditions, but what critics saw was three centuries and one double-century. Gill kickstarted the tour with a century and followed it up with a double-century and a century in the second Test. Despite failing to make an impact with the bat in the third Test, he has piled up 607 runs in three Tests, averaging over 100.

2. Rishabh Pant: 425 runs at 70.83

India’s new vice-captain in Test cricket, Rishabh Pant has continued his terrific batting exploits in red-ball cricket. He has piled on runs consistently in the series and is currently India’s second-highest run-getter in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Pant began the series with back-to-back centuries, hitting an outstanding 134 and 118 in the first and second innings, respectively. In three Tests, Pant has 425 runs to his name at an average of 70.83, including two hundreds.

3. Jamie Smith: 415 runs at 103.75

At number three is England’s wicket-keeper batter Jamie Smith. Batting at number seven, Smith has been a revelation for England in Test cricket. He has made a brilliant start to his Test cricket career, smashing over 1000 runs in 13 Tests at an average of 55.58. Smith has scored the most runs for England in the ongoing series vs India. His unbeaten 44 off 55 helped England chase down a massive 371-run target in the first Test. This was followed by a sensational 184 and 88 in the second Test.  In three Tests, he has scored 415 runs at a staggering average of 103.75.

4. KL Rahul: 375 runs at 62.50

In the absence of senior players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul has taken on the responsibility with grace. The 33-year-old has provided the stability at the top of the order, helping India post substantial totals on the board. He hit a brilliant 100 at Lord’s in the last Test and is currently fourth on the runs tally. In three Tests, KL Rahul has 375 runs at an average of 62.50.

5. Ravindra Jadeja: 327 runs at 52.57

Courtesy of his unbeaten 61 off 181 at Lord’s, Ravindra Jadeja has risen to the number five spot on the runs tally. Jadeja had a silent outing in the first Test but roared back into form from the second Test onwards. In his last four innings, Jadeja has hit three half-centuries in the series. He is proving to be a great asset, and India would want him to continue in the same vein.
