Shubman Gill enjoyed a standout performance in the recently concluded five-match Test series between India and England, which ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Leading India for the first time in Test cricket, Gill captained the side in the prestigious Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and delivered both as a leader and a batsman. Gill rose to the occasion with a commanding presence at the crease, finishing as the highest run-scorer in the series. He amassed an impressive 754 runs at a stellar average of 75.40, including four masterful centuries, cementing his reputation as one of India’s most promising young talents. His leadership and consistency were instrumental in securing a drawn series against a strong English side.

Adding to his memorable campaign, Gill’s signed Test jersey from the iconic Lord’s match was auctioned as part of the Budds charity auction, under a lot supporting the Red for Ruth initiative. The jersey fetched an impressive £4,600 (approximately ₹5.41 lakh), making it the highest-selling item among dozens of match-day memorabilia. The auction featured various signed shirts, caps, bats, player portraits, and hospitality experiences from both teams. Following Shubman Gill’s jersey topping the Budds charity auction, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja’s signed shirts fetched the joint-second highest bids at £4,200 each (approximately ₹4.94 lakh). KL Rahul’s jersey also attracted significant attention, selling for £4,000 (around ₹4.70 lakh).
