Predicted GT playing 11 for the revised schedule of IPL 2025
Amidst all the uncertainty around the resumption of the Indian Premier League 2025, Gujarat Titans were spotted practising at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. And, yesterday, the BCCI announced the revised schedule of IPL 2025, starting from 17th May with the clash between RCB and KKR. Currently, sitting at the top of the table, Gujarat Titans are making sure they stay focused in their quest to clinch their second Indian Premier League title. They have got 16 points from 11 matches, and one more will ensure their qualification for the playoffs.
Given that two of their remaining three games are at their home ground, they would be aiming for no less than a top-two finish. A report in TOI mentioned that all their foreign players preferred to stay in India except Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee, who went back home. It’s not confirmed when the two are going to be back.
Predicted GT playing 11 for the revised schedule of IPL 2025:
1. Shubman Gill ©
Skipper Shubman Gill should be back leading the team for GT’s next game against Delhi Capitals on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Be it his captaincy or batting, Gill has been exceptional in all departments. He is currently sitting third in the runs tally with 508 runs to his name in 11 games at 50.80.
2. Sai Sudharsan
Sai Sudharsan has continued his impressive IPL form from last season into the current one. The southpaw has been a revelation for GT, helping them lay the foundation for big totals with the bat. Touted to be an all-format star in Indian cricket, Sudharsan is the highest run-getter for GT this season with 509 runs in 11 games.
3. Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler has gone back home, and uncertainty around his return looms large. However, the source in the TOI report stated that he will be back soon. Buttler’s presence will matter a lot as he has been in exceptional form with the bat. The England wicket-keeper has ensured that he capitalized on the starts provided by the Indian duo. He has 500 runs in 11 games at an average of 71.43, striking at 163.93.
4. Sherfane Rutherford
Sherfane Rutherford has proved a great asset for the team in IPL 2025. Thanks to his brute hitting, he has made a significant impact, especially in the latter half of the innings. His explosive cameos have made a difference in the team’s fortunes. Rutherford was present in the practice session on Sunday evening and should retain his spot in the playing XI.
5. Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan has cemented the number five spot for GT this season. The powerful right-handed batter has shown glimpses of his ball-striking in the limited opportunities that he has been offered so far. In eight innings, he has scored 90 runs, striking at 183.
6. Rahul Tewatia
Rahul Tewatia is, perhaps, the most underutilized player for GT this season. Thanks to a consistent performance from the top-order, GT didn’t require Tewatia’s brilliance so far, but we all know what he is capable of when the situation demands.
7. Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan was superb in the last game against MI, but his, overall performance has been disappointing to say the least. The Afghanistan spinner is yet to arrive in the competition, and if he finds his form, then GT can become an unstoppable force as they head into the business end. In 11 games, Rashid Khan has accumulated eight wickets at an average of 46.
8. Kagiso Rabada
Gerald Coetzee has gone back home, but it shouldn’t hurt them that much, as Kagiso Rabada is back and will look to spearhead the pace-attack. His presence will bolster the fast bowling attack, which has done exceedingly well thus far. Rabada played the first two games for the franchise before being suspended for drug use.
9. Sai Kishore
Even if there isn’t a lot of help on the wicket for the spinners, the batters haven’t been able to take on Sai Kishore with ease. The left-arm spinner has been exceptional with his variations, always staying one step ahead of the batter. In 11 games, he has picked 14 wickets this season at an outstanding economy of 8.37.
10. Mohammed Siraj
Gujarat Titans would be pretty satisfied with how Siraj has bowled in IPL 2025. In 11 games, he has delivered several impactful spells, including 4/17 vs SRH, 3/19 vs RCB, and 2/34 vs MI, among others. He has managed to pick 15 wickets in 11 games at an average of 24.
11. Prasidh Krishna
There is no denying that Prasidh Krishna has been the best bowler in the Indian Premier League 2025. He has played a pivotal role in GT’s success, leading the attack by example. Prasidh Krishna has shown his ability to deliver in all facets of the innings, picking the wickets whenever his team needed them the most. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2025 with 20 scalps in 11 games at an economy of 7.65.
Impact Sub:
12. Arshad Khan
For the left-arm seam option, GT have placed its bet on Arshad Khan. He has turned up in six games and picked up four wickets at 33. He bowled a three-over spell against MI in the last game, conceding 18 runs and picking the wicket of Rohit Sharma.
