Is Rajat Patidar not playing the RCB vs SRH IPL 2025 match? Who is the RCB captain?
Seems like Rajat Patidar is not keen on straining his body with the full workload just yet following his recovery from a hand injury. The Bengaluru captain has been named in the impact subs list for the RCB vs SRH IPL 2025 match. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma has been handed the reins of the team for the fixture in Lucknow. The RCB vs SRH match marks the penultimate game for Bengaluru at the group stage. Already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs, RCB now aims for a Top 2 finish to land a spot in Qualifier 1. Coming into the match, Jitesh won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Stadium.
Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, Virat Kohli, Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar... and now Jitesh Sharma! 🙌❤️🔥

Rajat Patidar injured his finger while fielding in the RCB vs CSK IPL 2025 match. Soon after that match, the India-Pakistan conflict escalated beyond measure, and the season was suspended with national security being threatened. On the day the suspension was announced, RCB was supposed to play LSG. However, the fixture was rescheduled after the revised schedule for the remainder of IPL 2025 was announced. Following the resumption, which was scheduled to start with the RCB vs KKR match, RCB still didn’t get to play as incessant rain in Bengaluru washed away the game. Now, finally, the team will resume their campaign with the RCB vs SRH match in Lucknow. The fixture was shifted out of Bengaluru due to the continuous rain threat in the city.
Despite the long gap between the two matches for the team, Rajat Patidar remains watchful of his injury. While the captain has recovered, Patidar has opted to play as an impact player instead of the full-time skipper in the RCB vs SRH match. Jitesh Sharma has come to the fore to lead the team against Sunrisers Hyderabad, as Patidar plays in the capacity of just a batter in the RCB Playing XI. Following this match, RCB will play against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana again. In these two matches at the group stage, Bengaluru has the chance to seal an ideal Top 2 finish for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
🪙 Resuming our campaign on a lucky note, Captain Jitesh wins the toss and chooses to bowl! 🤩
