Is Faf du Plessis playing today's DC vs GT IPL 2025 match? Check DC playing 11

The Delhi Capitals (DC) will be resuming their Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) campaign against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 18, 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It has been a tournament contrasting fortunes for the Delhi Capitals especially in the second half as they witnessed four consecuctive victories at the start of the competition and recently suffered a couple of back-to-back defeats. The Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the fifth position on the IPL 2025 points table with a total of 6 wins from their 11 matches. They desperately need to win atleast two out of their remaining three matches in order to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. 

Faf du Plessis to play today's DC vs GT IPL 2025 match?

The major issue in the Indian Premier League 2025 resumption is the availability of the overseas players as majority of them had returned to their respective countries after the tournament was suspended for a week. However, the good news for the Delhi Capitals is that former South African batter Faf du Plessis has already joined the camp and will most likely be available for the remainder of the T20 competition as he has retired from international cricket. 

Incidentally, Faf du Plessis has scored a total of 168 runs from 6 matches that includes a couple of half-centuries. The senior cricketer will have to take the responsibility in the batting department to help the Delhi Capitals seal a spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs. On the other hand, the Axar Patel-led DC team have already lost the Australian duo of Mitchell Starc and Jake Fraser McGurk as they have withdrawn from remainder of the tournament due to personal reasons.

According to sources, premier batter KL Rahul is very much likely to open the batting for Delhi Capitals in the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2025 season. Also, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman who has been roped in as a replacement for Fraser McGurk, is unlikely to be available for the DC vs GT IPL 2025 match starting on Sunday.
