Bollywood superstar Salman Khan revealed that he was offered to buy a team in the Indian Premier League, but he denied it. However, he mentioned that he has no regrets about the decision.

“IPL offer hua tha us waqt, Lia nahi. Aisa nahi hai ki pachta rahe hain hum. Khush hi hain hum.” Salman said in an event in Mumbai as quoted by Times of India.

When asked if he has any plans of owning an IPL team in the future, Salman said that he is now too old to venture into a tournament like the Indian Premier League.

“IPL ke lie old hogye hum.” the mega-star responded.

Many Bollywood stars expressed interest in buying the teams at the start of the Indian Premier League. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla are currently the co-owners of Kolkata Knight Riders, while Preity Zinta owns Punjab Kings. Shilpa Shetty had a stake in the Rajasthan Royals, but she is no longer associated with the franchise.

Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders has won the Indian Premier League thrice in 2012, 2014, and 2021 editions. Punjab Kings reached the final last season but failed to win the trophy. PBKS are still searching for their first IPL trophy.

Which is the most successful IPL franchise?

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are currently the joint-most successful teams with five titles to their name. Chennai Super Kings, though, have played two seasons less than MI due to their suspension in 2016 and 2017. CSK won back-to-back IPL titles in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, while Mumbai Indians clinched their first Indian Premier League trophy in 2013. The 2025 edition saw Royal Challengers Bangalore end their 18-year-long wait to win an IPL trophy.

The Red Army beat Punjab Kings in the final to win the elusive trophy and end an agonizingly long wait.
