IPL 2026: Sanjeev Goenka’s serious exchange with Rishabh Pant after LSG loss? WATCH VIDEO

Following the six-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, LSG team owner Dr Sanjiv Goenka were spotted on the field having a conversation with skipper Rishabh Pant and coach Justin Langer.  Playing at home ground, Bharat Ratna Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, LSG showed a very disappointing performance with the bat, after being invited to bat first. They were bowled out on 141 runs in 18.4 overs. DC pacers Lungi Ngidi & T Natrajan took 3 wickets each, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 wickets. LSG’s star batters, Rishabh Pant (7), Mitchell Marsh (35), Aiden Markram (11), and Nicholas Pooran (8) failed with the bat. Abdul Samad was the highest run scorer for the team, with 36 runs. Rishabh Pant played as an opener. 

While chasing a target of 142 runs, DC found themselves in early trouble as they lost their first four wickets for a mere 26 runs. However, from that point on, Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs joined forces to guide the team to victory without any further loss of wickets. Rizvi scored an unbeaten 70 runs off 47 balls, while Stubbs contributed an unbeaten 39 runs. 

Following the conclusion of the game, a video surfaced showing Sanjiv Goenka speaking with Rishabh Pant and Head Coach Justin Langer; however, due to the unavailability of audio, it is difficult to determine what conversation took place between them. Judging by the video, it appears that a serious discussion took place among the three.

This is not the first time this has happened. Earlier in the 2024 IPL, Sanjiv Goenka had a similar discussion with KL Rahul, then LSG captain. Fans are now linking yesterday's Rahul-Goenka conversation to the discussion between Rishabh Pant and Goenka.

Following the loss, Goenka admitted the match result on X, writing a calm, composed note as he supported his squad and captain. This is just the beginning of the season. 

"This is a long season, and moments like these are part of building something meaningful. I have full confidence in our captain and the team to respond with strength. To our fans, thank you for your support at Ekana today, we will come back stronger. The story of @LucknowIPL this season is far from written," he wrote on X.
