During the second Test of the prestigious Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 between India and England at Edgbaston, a light-hearted moment captured the attention of fans. As England batted in their first innings, cameras panned to the Indian dressing room, where a woman, dressed in Team India's official support staff kit, was spotted smiling warmly at star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. The brief yet endearing exchange quickly became a talking point among viewers, with many speculating about the identity of the woman and her connection with the team. While no official details were provided, the moment offered a refreshing break from the intensity of the Test match.

Jasprit Bumrah, known for his focused demeanor on the field, seemed unfazed by the attention as he continued to lead India’s pace attack with determination. Such candid glimpses behind the scenes often highlight the human side of high-stakes international cricket, offering fans a closer connection to the players. However, there is a lot of suspense amongst the fans as well as on the social media about the mystery girl in the Indian dugout.

All about Yasmin Badiani - The mystery girl with the Indian team

The woman who was spotted in the Indian dressing room during the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 at Edgbaston is Yasmin Badiani, a seasoned sports professional. Currently, she is associated with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as part of their Team Operations unit. Her presence during India’s tour of England, especially in the Indian team’s setup, sparked curiosity and chatter across social media platforms, with many users speculating about her role and her friendly interaction with Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

However, to clear the air, Yasmin has been officially designated by the ECB to work with the visiting Indian side, assisting them with on-ground logistics and operations throughout their England tour. It’s a standard practice in international cricket for the host board to assign liaison officers or team operations personnel to support the visiting side with coordination, communication, and local arrangements. Yasmin’s responsibilities fall under that framework. Her professional presence is part of ensuring smooth operations and hospitality during international series.

Yasmin Badiani’s role as part of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) includes managing travel arrangements, practice sessions, match-day logistics, and stadium access for the visiting Indian team. It is a standard practice for the host board to appoint an operations liaison to ensure seamless coordination between the touring side and local officials.

Fans were left puzzled after seeing Yasmin in the Indian team’s training kit during the second Test, sparking speculation on social media. However, given her responsibilities and close involvement in the daily functioning of the Indian squad, wearing the team kit is both practical and professional. It helps her blend in with the group and effectively carry out her support role throughout the series.

Yasmin Badiani, a Physiotherapy graduate from the University of Leicester (2010), began her career in healthcare before transitioning into sports. She worked as a Sports Physiotherapist with Leicester City FC (2010–2013), supporting academy players. Later, she held leadership roles at Phizz Ltd and Clinova, focusing on athlete hydration and recovery. In August 2022, Yasmin joined the ECB’s Operations Team, where she now plays a key role in coordinating logistics and support for national and touring teams. Notably, during the second Test of the India vs England five-match series, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for workload management and did not feature in the India playing XI.
