A comfortable win for India against Indonesia as both Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara were in sublime form. India beat Indonesia with a scoreline of 5 - 1 (37-36, 38-38, 38-37). India will take on Spain in the Quarter-Finals of the Mixed Team Archery event at 5:45 pm IST. The Indian pair didn't waste any time wrapping things up quickly in this Round of 16 Contest. Ankita Bhakat fired three 10s in a row toward the end of the match, with Dhiraj hitting 10 twice early on, and with neither archer shooting anything less than a 9, India was in complete control, winning the first and third sets, while tieing the second. On the flip side, Spain beat China 6-2 in their 1/8 Elimination Round.

India's mixed archery team of Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat managed to get the better of Indonesia's Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu by a margin of 5-1 in the mixed team 1/8 elimination round of the Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday, August 2. The Indian team won the match with a scoreline of 37-36, 38-38, and 38-37 to enter the quarterfinals of the mixed team event. Dhiraj and Ankita consistently shot 9s and 10s. However, it was Ankita who stepped up when it mattered the most, shooting 10s in her last three attempts to take the pair into the quarterfinals. India will face Spain's Elia Canales and Pablo Acha in the Quarter-Finals of the Mixed Team Archery event at 5:45 pm IST.

Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat showed strong form, winning the first set 37-36 and drawing the second set before clinching the third set to secure their quarterfinal berth. Earlier, India's campaign in men's individual archery concluded with four-time Olympian Tarundeep Rai exiting in the opening round and Dhiraj Bommadevara narrowly losing in the second round. Both the men's and women's teams were unable to progress past the quarterfinals. However, seasoned archer Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur have reached the pre-quarterfinals of the women's individual event, keeping India's medal hope alive in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
