The Boxing Day massacre of the Villa Park outfit remains Chelsea’s joint-biggest Premier League win in their history. This came under Rafael Benitez's controversial interim tenure where the Blues were ruthless against a poor Aston Villa. Fernando Torres opened the floodgates before Branislav Ivanovic, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, Ramires, David Luiz, and Oscar completed the rout. The performance was nothing but a masterclass finishing with relentless pressing while registering over 25 shots throughout the match. Brad Guzan, the Villa shot-stopper, felt helpless as the waves of attack did not stop.

2) Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Athletic (May 9, 2010)

Season: 2009/10 | Gameweek: 38 | Stadium: Stamford Bridge | Crowd: 41,383

In the final weeks of the Premier League campaign under Carlo Ancelotti’s debut season saw the club witnessing one of the most emphatic wins. Chelsea went on to produce one of the pure artistry against Wigan who were battling relegation. Nicolas Anelka started the proceedings for Chelsea, with Salomon Kalou, Ashley Cole, and Frank Lampard scoring goals for the side. Didier Drogba was phenomenal in the game with him bagging a hat-trick. The performance capped off a remarkable season that saw Chelsea score 103 goals in all competitions, with Ancelotti proving that defensive solidity and attacking flair could coexist beautifully at Stamford Bridge.

3) Chelsea 7-0 Norwich City (October 23, 2021)

Season: 2021/22 | Gameweek: 9 | Stadium: Stamford Bridge | Crowd: 40,113

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea delivered a statement performance that made them one of the title-chasing sides. In front of over 40000 fans at Stamford Bridge, Mason Mount started the party early with the goal with Hudson Odoi doubling before Reece James added the additional goal just before halftime to put the game beyond the reach of struggling Norwich City.

Ben Chilwell also found himself on the scoresheet before Max Aarons conceded the own goal and Mount grabbing a hattrick. The performance was nothing but a display of Chelsea’s bench strength and Norwich City’s struggle in the top flight. The tactical evolution of Thomas Tuchel was also on display with Chelsea’s wing back providing the width with front three being highly fluid against the opposition.

4) Chelsea 7-0 Stoke City (April 25, 2010)

Season: 2009/10 | Gameweek: 36 | Stadium: Stamford Bridge | Crowd: 41,013

Another masterclass from Ancelotti's title-winning side, this demolition of Tony Pulis's typically stubborn Stoke team was remarkable for its comprehensive nature. Salomon Kalou scored thrice, while Frank Lampard, Florent Malouda, and Daniel Sturridge, all contributed to the rout. Stoke's physical, direct approach was completely nullified by Chelsea's superior technical ability and tactical intelligence.

The victory came at a crucial stage of the title race, demonstrating Chelsea's mental strength and ability to maintain focus despite the pressure. Ancelotti's team played with remarkable freedom, switching the ball quickly and finding space behind Stoke's compact defensive structure. This emphatic victory helped secure the Premier League title and showcased the Italian manager's impact on transforming Chelsea into entertainers.

5)  Chelsea 7-1 Aston Villa (March 27, 2010)

Frank Lampard scored a hattrick, while Florent Malouda and Kalou also found the net, with Carew grabbing a consolation for the visitors. This victory was significant as it came during a crucial phase of the title race, with Chelsea needing to maintain their momentum against Manchester United.

The match showcased the incredible attacking depth in Ancelotti's squad, with goals coming from defenders, midfielders, and forwards alike. The performance highlighted the tactical flexibility that made this Chelsea side so dangerous, with players comfortable in multiple positions and systems.
