Raphinha reveals about his dream after extending his contract with Barcelona

Raphinha has opened up about his dreams at Camp Nou after extending his contract with Barcelona. He revealed that he wants to retire from the club, following the extension that keeps him at Barça until 2028. The contract renewal comes after a stellar season in which he helped the team win La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España, completing a domestic treble.

In the Spanish top flight, he recorded 18 goals and nine assists in 35 appearances. With two years remaining on his previous contract, he has now been rewarded with an additional year, along with a rumored increase in wages. The news follows the extension of Hansi Flick’s contract. Expressing his happiness over the new deal, Raphinha thanked the staff for placing special trust in him. He said:

I’ve spoken with the president...all the people in charge have put their trust in me for a second time, and this is very gratifying and very special for me,

Talking about the new contract, he mentioned that he is happy to be at the club for another year and expressed that he has achieved a personal goal. Raphinha also said he hopes to continue bringing a lot of joy to the fans. He reiterated his desire to end his career with the club. The Brazilian said:

I’m very happy to feel like you for another year. I’ve achieved a personal goal. I hope to continue bringing lots of joy to our fans. As I’ve told my family, my dream is to be here until the end of my career, and I hope to do so by playing at my best.

Raphinha will be 31 when his contract expires at the end of the 2027/28 season. He mentioned that he has to be responsible as he is dad, captain, and uncle.

What next for Barcelona? 

Barcelona will play Athletic Club in the final game of the campaign on Sunday and will look to add three more points to their tally.
