Paris St Germain and Atletico Madrid Player Ratings as PSG thrash the Spaniards 4-0

While day 1 of the FIFA Club World Cup saw a stalemate at Hard Rock Stadium, day 2 was all about goals. Bayern Munich thrashed Auckland City 10-0, whereas Botafogo scored two past the Seattle Sounders. Paris St Germain did not want to miss a chance in what was termed as a fight between two well-equipped opponents.

The French giants carried on their recent form to thrash Atlético Madrid 4-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Paris St. Germain did not take much time to get their game going. Even in the absence of Ousmane Dembélé, they were at their attacking finest. The French giants took just 19 minutes to score the first goal of the game with Fabian Ruiz converting the chance created by Kvaratskhelia. 

The Parisians did not rest after scoring the first goal. The waves of attack made the second goal inevitable. Vitinha found the back of the net in added time in the first half. Atlético Madrid spent the first half in their box but did not start slowly in the second. They tried to make their way out of the trouble with a chance in the 58th minute. However, the goal was disallowed as Alvarez was offside. Things got worse for Rojiblancos as Clement Lenglet was shown a red in the 78th minute. Taking advantage of that, PSG scored late in the second half to make it 4-0 in the season opener.
