Neymar Jr To Return To FC Barcelona In 2025?

As per reports, Neymar Jr. is keen to make a return to his former club FC Barcelona as soon as his stint with Al-Hilal ends. His contract with Al-Hilal is due to expire by 2025 after which he will be keen to return to FC Barcelona, due to his personal reasons. Living in Barcelona will also suit the Brazilian as he will be closer to his family, especially his son who resides in the Catalan region. In addition to that, he wants to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and according to Neymar, playing in Europe will help him to get glory to his nation at the biggest stage 2 years from now. Neymar has been in constant contact with FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta, who also encourages the idea of welcoming Neymar back to the Camp Nou in a year’s time from now.

However, the major difficulty that Neymar will face is that of Barcelon’s financial restraints that have been troubling them for quite some time now. These restraints have caused the Catalan club a lot of problems in registering and signing new players. Not only that, Barcelona have been more focused on nurturing and developing young talents in recent years rather than signing players who have already become stars in the footballing world. Neymar’s stint at Saudi Arabia has not been memorable, as he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last October which forced him to stay out of action for up to 6 months. The injury also caused him to undergo surgery which was fortunately successful.

Neymar’s career at Barcelona spanned over 4 years, i.e. from 2013 to 2017 during which he scored 105 goals and 76 assists in 186 matches. The club recently added Neymar’s name to their list of club legends along with Croatia’s Ivan Rakitic, with whom Neymar won the Champions League, La Liga and the Copa Del Rey in 2015. While wanting to return to Barcelona has been on Neymar’s mind in recent times, the same cannot be said for the fans who might not be as keen as the player and Laporta to welcome the Brazilian back with open arms.
