Alexander Isak has been the talk of the town for quite some time and was one of the most active names during the January transfer window. The player has been instrumental in the ongoing campaign, helping his side reach the Carabao Cup final and keeping the club in the top-four contention. In the current season, he has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 24 Premier League appearances. However, his recent injury has ruled him out of the last few fixtures, prompting Eddie Howe to address questions about the player’s importance.

Talking about Isak's significance, Eddie Howe acknowledged that the club recognizes his strengths and abilities but emphasized that Newcastle United is not a one-man team. He stated that while he never wants to box the team into that narrative, it is Isak’s unique qualities that make him an attractive and pivotal player in the lineup. He said:

We recognise Alex [Isak's] strengths and his abilities

I don't think we are a one-man team. I will never classify us in that bracket, but Alex brings unique qualities in that centre-forward role, in that pivotal middle role that we need

Will Alexander Isak play in the FA Cup fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion?

Alexander Isak’s unavailability due to injury was a cause of concern for both the manager and Newcastle United in their mid-week fixture against Liverpool. The club went on to lose the game 2-0, which dealt a blow to their top-four aspirations. With an FA Cup fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion on the weekend, Isak's availability remains uncertain. Speaking to the media, Eddie Howe reassured fans, stating that the player is not ruled out for an extended period and that he was rested on Wednesday as a precaution. He said:

We will see how he is [on Friday]. We don't think it's a long-term problem. There was no risk taken on Wednesday and there can't be with the stage of the season we're in

Will Alexander Isak stay at Newcastle United next season?

Alexander Isak has attracted interest from top clubs across Europe, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool reportedly looking to break the bank for the striker. It will be interesting to see if the player decides to move away from Newcastle United, especially with his contract running until 2030.
