Mikel Arteta thanks Pep Guardiola for helping him to win the Champions League QF against Real Madrid

Arsenal players, fans’ and their gaffer, Mikel Arteta, are on cloud nine after a 5-1 against Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. At the start of the season, Arsenal fans dreamed of playing Real Madrid until the latter found their mid-season mojo. However, Arsenal went shoulder to shoulder during the same time. When it mattered, the players and the manager, Mikel Arteta decided to step up and give a decisive blow to Los Blancos’ aspirations. Mikel Arteta thanked Pep Guardiola for his guidance throughout his life. 

Talking about the same incident, Arteta thanked Pep Guardiola for being an inspiration to the greatest extent. Arteta was part of the assistant coaching staff of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and he mentioned that he is grateful for the same. The Spaniard mentioned: 

I called him because if I am here, it is thanks to him to a great extent

He has been a big inspiration to me. I lived four amazing years with him and I will always be grateful to him. Without him, I wouldn't be here

Speaking about the team’s aspirations and desires, Arteta called out that his team is very hungry and wants to keep doing the best things. He also mentioned how much his team is ready to play in the semifinals of the competition. Arsenal will face Paris St Germain in the semifinals, with the latter having a great run in the ongoing campaign as well. Areta said: 

Our team is very hungry and we want to keep on doing great things. We want to keep playing at semi-finals

Mikel Arteta dedicates win to his family

Mikel Arteta thanked his wife and children for being through and through with him during this journey. He mentioned that the family had to go through tough times as well and just before the game, they had listened to all about the game. He mentioned that they are proud of him for his achievements. Arteta said: 

We will have to go through tough times if we want to continue playing at this stage but we also have to enjoy it. The first thing I thought when the game finished was of my wife and my children because they've heard all week about what can happen in this stadium. They were here with me and they were proud
