Manchester United set to lock their horns with Barcelona for Mali wonderkid

According to recent reports, Manchester United are all set to lock horns with Barcelona to secure the services of Mali wonderkid. Barcelona and Manchester United are interested in Aboubacar Maiga who has already been termed as “Malian Messi” for his ability to dribble and create from the heart of the midfield. 

Aboubacar Maiga, a 15-year-old Mali international, has been nothing short of a genius. In his age group, he has been touted as one of the best players and is continuously being scouted by multiple European outfits with Manchester United and Barcelona leading the race. The young player usually operates from the midfield but also has the ability to operate on the right flank. He will be garnering attention when his U-17 takes the field in October in the West African tournament. 

Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to compete with Barcelona for Malian teenager Aboubacar Maiga in the summer.

The player will turn 16 in the summer and Barcelona wants to leverage their partnership with Academie Africa Foot to secure the services of Maiga. They had leveraged the partnership last summer to secure the signature of Ibrahima Diarra for Barcelona B side. However, the player is yet to be convinced by the idea of playing in Spain as he wants to make a name in the English Premier League with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Manchester United being interested in him. It remains interesting to see where he lands as Red Bull Organization, a group known for developing youth is also interested in the teenager.
