Harry Kane's fine form continues in the 2024-25 season

Harry Kane’s brace in the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup has helped the Bavarian giants to set up a blockbuster quarterfinal after enduring a successful campaign in Germany. Harry Kane cut short Flamengo’s fightback with his double strike at Hard Rock Stadium. Flamengo has been one of the finest sides in the FIFA Club World Cup, giving the opposition a run for their money.

They did the same against Bayern Munich despite going two goals behind early in the game. Pulgar’s own goal and Harry Kane’s ninth-minute strike helped Bayern Munich to take a two-goal lead. However, Flamengo pulled one back in the 33rd minute via Gerson. Bayern Munich did not allow any chances as they intensified their attacks. This yielded results as Leon Goretzka scored Bayern’s third goal to go 3-1 at half-time. 

On the resumption, Flamengo did not hold back and went all guns blazing. The approach helped them to bring the difference back to one goal. The score read 3-2 in the 55th minute after Jorginho converted the penalty successfully. However, Harry Kane shut the game down for the opposition with his second goal in the 73rd minute. He found the back of the net after receiving a fine pass from Joshua Kimmich at the edge of the box. He used his dominant right foot to put the ball past the shot-stopper and register the sixth goal of the game.

With the brace, Harry Kane has shut down the critics who had doubted his form in recent times. If Bayern Munich were to go all the way, Harry Kane would have a big role to play.

Who will Bayern Munich play in the quarterfinals? 

With a win over Flamengo in the Round of 16, Bayern Munich will face Luis Enrique’s Paris St Germain in the quarterfinals. The game will be played on 5th July at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
