The Premier League 2024/25 season has ended with Liverpool clinching the title whereas Arsenal three-peating the second-placed finish. While the title was decided four weeks before the final gameweek, it was the race to the Champions League that heated up. It was the goal rush in the final gameweek where Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Chelsea qualified for the elite European competition whereas Aston Villa missed out narrowly. 

While these happened in the league, the results were also fairly due to the signings done at the start of the campaign. A sum closer to € 2.8 billion in the two transfer windows. 5) Liam Delap (Manchester City to Ipswich Town - €17.8 million) 

While the 22-year-old is now being scouted and interest shown by the riches of Europe, Liam Delap has been the revelation as a striker for Ipswich Town and the Premier League too. The Mancunian went on to join the recently promoted Premier League outfit at the start of the campaign in a deal worth €17.8 to help them fight the Premier League waters. 

With Manchester City not wanting the striker and Southampton interested, the Tractor Boys went on to seal the deal. Mixing his physicality with the pace and movements, Delap bagged 12 goals and two assists to his name. He helped the club seal the win against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in a rather dull season. With the relegation clause kicking in, Delap will be no short of suitors in the transfer window.

4) Ismaïla Sarr (Marseille to Crystal Palace - €15 million)

One of the highly rated players when he donned Watford colors, Ismaila Sarr, had tapered down. However, a stint in France has helped him rejuvenate his career and take the Premier League head-on. The Senegalese went on to guide Crystal Palace to a mid-table finish while also ending their trophy drought with the club winning the FA Cup. 

Signed in a deal worth €15 million, Ismaila Sarr raked in 13 goal contributions for Oliver Glasner’s side. Playing behind Mateta, Sarr was a driving force in creating chances, while his late runs also caught the opposition defense by surprise. Glasner will look to achieve higher goals with Sarr in the upcoming campaign.

3) Yankuba Minteh (Newcastle United to Brighton and Hove Albion - €35 million) 

If there is any attacker who can be called the hidden gem that was discovered, it has to be Yakub Minteh of Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls are known for their ability to find the hidden gem from any part of the world but this time, they went to Newcastle United to get the player they wanted in a deal worth €35 million. 

With PSR revolving around the clubs, Newcastle United had to sacrifice players and it was Minteh and Anderson. Minteh had decided to show what he was worth and he displayed against Newcastle United at Amex Stadium. The Gambian was at the heart of the attack creating chances, breaking the play, and whatnot. He scored six goals while also having four assists to his name. A trouble for the full-backs and with him being just 21, the player is looked at as the future of the Seagulls. 

2) Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina to Nottingham Forest - €12.3 million)

When Nottingham Forest signed Serbian central defender Nikola Milenković from the Italian outfit, many questioned Nottingham Forest and Nuno Santo’s priorities. However, the €12.3 million investment has proven to be a masterstroke as Milenković emerged as the team’s standout defender during their push for European qualification in the 2024/25 season. 

The 27-year-old played a pivotal role at both ends of the pitch, gobbling great numbers. The Serbian contested 218 aerial duels and won over 150. He boasts a league-best success rate of 70%. Also, in the attacking department, Milenković contributed five goals from set pieces, playing a crucial role in helping Forest accumulate 65 points.

1) Dean Huijsen (Juventus to AFC Bournemouth - €19.63 million)

A deal to remember for both clubs in recent times. Juventus sold the teenager in a deal worth €19.63 million to the English Premier League outfit. The Spanish teenager went on to become the fan favorite for the Cherries. The aggressive defender who likes to play out in the heart of the defense and his great distribution skills made him a key part in AFC Bournemouth’s success in the recently concluded campaign. 

While everybody in England is known for hyping youngsters, the sky is the limit for Huijsen with his skills and age left with him. He formed an excellent understanding and partnership with Ilya Zabarnayi leading the pack of best u-21 players in Europe. The Spaniard ranks in the top 5% of the Premier League central defenders in terms of interceptions and clearances. He also is part of the top 10% of players with his progressive carries. The performance earned him the ticket to Santiago Bernabeu with them triggering the release clause of €59.5 million.
