The Premier League 2024/25 season has been phenomenal for fans barring Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who ended up in the bottom half of the table. Liverpool won for the first time in decades, whereas Manchester City scraped to make it to the Champions League spots. Amidst these, there have been league games where both teams, regardless of the position on the points table, have given fans and neutrals the best time.

Some of the top games include the Manchester rivalry, Arsenal defending their honor against the traditional Top 6 opponent, the Merseyside derby, and more.

In this article, we shall look at five of the best Premier League Games of the 2024/25 season:

5)  Everton 2–3 Bournemouth, Goodinson Park, August 31, 2024

There are very few games when the team who is already two goals down on the verge of stoppage time rescues a point. And there are very few occasions where the teams take home all three points. And this is exactly what Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth achieved in the third gameweek of the season.

Sean Dyche’s Everton were tipped as one of the sides to get relegated after the result, whereas AFC Bournemouth used this result to end with the highest points in their Premier League history. After a goalless first half, Keane and Calvert Lewin gave the Toffees a two-goal lead only for Antoine Semeyo to halve it in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute, Lewis Cook scored the equalizer for Cherries, and it seemed like the game was ending at 2-2. But then, Luis Sinisterra’s ball found Kluivert to find the third goal for the Cherries, setting the tone for the season.

4) Manchester City 2–2 Arsenal, Etihad Stadium, September 22, 2024

What started as another typical Manchester City victory, quickly turned into one of the season-defining moments for both sides. Erling Haaland scored early in the game, but then the disaster hit Manchester City. Rodri suffered an ACL injury that would derail their entire campaign.

Arsenal capitalized beautifully on the opportunity with Calafiori equalizing before Gabriel’s goal put them ahead at halftime. However, the drama did not stop there. Trossard’s controversial red card for wasting time left the club to defend with ten men. While the Gunners held themselves for most minutes of the game, John Stones hurt them with the 97th-minute dagger, scoring a scrappy equalizer.

3) Tottenham 3–4 Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, December 8, 2024

North London derbies always deliver entertainment, and this one was no different. Spurs raced to a 2-0 lead within ten minutes, with Cucurella's nightmare performance gifting them both goals. First, he slipped allowing Johnson to set up Solanke, then he did it again for Kulusevski's strike.

Chelsea looked shell-shocked, but credit to Maresca's side, they showed real character. Sancho started the comeback with a lovely curled effort, then Palmer took over. The England star scored twice from the penalty spot while Enzo Fernández grabbed the crucial third. Son's late consolation wasn't enough for Spurs.

2) Everton 2–2 Liverpool, Goodison Park, February 12, 2025

One of the finest Premier League games in recent history was this Merseyside Derby. In the last Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park, both sides went toe-to-toe and traded blows like boxers. Beto found the goal with a clever freekick, but Alexis McAllister helped Liverpool to come back into the game within four minutes.

The score was at 1-1 until Mohamed Salah found the goal on the rebound. When it all looked like Liverpool were going to win the game and take home three points. Five minutes were added on, and Harrison pushed for the equalizer. The cross was met by Dominik Szboszlai, which fell kindly onto Vitaly Mykolenko. The Ukrainian floated the ball again into the box, which was headed by Tim Iroegbunam to pass to Tarkowski, who found the back of the net on a volley, sending the stadium into delirium.

1) Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United, Etihad Stadium, December 15, 2024

In a rather dull season for Manchester United, this was one of the top games under Ruben Amorim which raised the hopes of the fans. The Old Trafford outfit was already in trouble and struggling to get a goal but against Manchester City, Amorim continued his run against Pep Guardiola.

Starting the game on the front foot, Manchester United had the early shots and shots on target but they failed to find the back of the net. Against the run of play, Manchester City found the goal in the 36th minute via Gvardiol and led the game until the 88th minute. Amad went on to win a foul after capitalizing on the mistake by Nunes which Bruno converted to make it 1-1. When everybody thought the game was ending in a draw, an accurate ball from Lisandro Martinez found Amad. Amad found the goal after rounding up the shot-stopper to make it 2-1.
