Dimitar Berbatov reveals his favourite strike partner; snubs Rooney, Ronaldo

According to a recent interview, Dimitar Berbatov has opened up on his favorite strike partner during his playing time. He snubbed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, with whom he played alongside at Manchester United. He chose his Tottenham Hotspur strike partner, Robbie Keane, and appreciated the partnership he had with the Irish international. In an interview with a prominent sports outlet and the video available on TikTok, the Bulgarian international described the partnership with Keane as a “great partnership”, lauding chemistry and productivity.

During their time at Tottenham Hotspur, they featured in over 80 times and combined for 17 goals. Dimitar Berbatov made his move to Manchester United in 2008 and went on to win one League Cup and two Premier League titles. He played alongside Ronaldo for one season, contributing five goals. With Rooney, he shared the pitch 99 times, resulting in 12 goals.

In the past, when Dimitar Berbatov was asked to choose between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Berbatov chose Messi. He mentioned that Lionel Messi is the greatest. However, he also added that Ronaldo is one of the finest, but Messi is more his kind of player. He applauded Lionel Messi’s ability to score and create, calling him the “complete player”.

Dimitar Berbatov revealed that he advises young players not to solely focus on imitating Cristiano Ronaldo's clothing style and hairstyle, but also to draw inspiration from his training routine, instead. 

"Young players try and imitate the best players like Ronaldo. They try to imitate the hair, the clothes, the cars, the tricks. I try to tell them how hard Cristiano Ronaldo trained in training and after training." Berbatov said.
