Al-Nassr are keen to bolster their squad and are actively pursuing a second foreign signing in the summer transfer window. Al Nassr made one big acquisition with the signing of João Félix from Chelsea on 29th July. And, as per a report by Spanish outfit MARCA, Cristiano Ronaldo is now urging the club to sign former Manchester United player Mason Greenwood. The 23-year-old was part of Manchester United from 2018 to 2024. Greenwood had a phenomenal start at the club as he netted 17 goals in the 2019-20 season across all competitions. He, in fact, became the youngest Manchester United player to reach 20 goals since Norman Whiteside in 1987.

Greenwood was an integral member of the club before getting suspended in 2022. United’s decision to suspend him came after he was arrested on charges of rape and assault. The case was dropped in 2023, and Mason Greenwood was sent to Getafe on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old joined Ligue 1 club Marseille on a five-year deal in the summer of 2024. He played a stellar role for the club, smashing 22 goals and six assists from 36 appearances across all competitions. As per the report, Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have to pay a fee of around £ 62 million if they are to sign Greenwood from Marseille.

Al Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League 2024-25 campaign, only behind Al Ittihad and Al-Hilal. Al Ittihad emerged as champions, while Al Hilal finished as runners-up. With a strong team at their disposal, Al Nassr are keen to win the title ahead of a new season.

Antony refuses to join hands with Ronaldo; keen to play in La Liga

Meanwhile, former Manchester United player Antony has denied his interest in forming an alliance with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. According to a report by SPORT, Antony has rejected Al Nassr’s proposal and is keen to join Real Betis on a permanent transfer.

The 25-year-old Brazil international didn’t enjoy a successful stint with Manchester United, scoring only 12 goals and five assists in a total of 96 appearances across competitions. United manager Ruben Amorim expressed displeasure with his continuity in his plans, and Antony had to join Real Betis on a six-month loan in January.

His performance in Spain was notable, as he netted nine goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
