Manchester United are winless after playing their first two games in the 2025-26 Premier League season. In their second game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, United settled for a 1-1 draw. The Reds looked threatening right from the start, creating numerous chances but were unable to convert. Matheus Cunha had two shots within the opening two minutes of the game, with the second one hitting the post. He then showed his exceptional skill to control a long clearance from Byandir inside the box but couldn’t get it past the goalkeeper.

Manchester United’s best chance came in the 36th minute when they earned a penalty. But, sadly, Bruno Fernandes sent it over the bar. It was quite shocking as Fernandes hasn’t missed a penalty since December 2023.Following the completion of the game, Bruno said that he was “upset” after he and referee Chris Kavanagh bumped into each other as he stepped away from placing the ball on the spot, but said that it is not an excuse for missing.

“That’s not the excuse for missing the penalty, I just had a very bad hit on the ball,” Bruno told Sky.

“I took my foot too under the ball, and that’s why the ball ended up going over the bar.”

Manchester United began Premier League season with a 1-0 loss to Arsenal

Manchester United kick-started their Premier League season with a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Old Trafford last week. They created multiple chances but were unable to convert. A 13th-minute strike from Riccardo Calafiori was the only goal of the match, as Arsenal maintained their lead for the remainder of the game.

With one draw and a defeat in two games, Manchester United find themselves at 16th spot in the Premier League table with a solitary point to their name. Arsenal are sitting atop with two wins in as many games, followed by Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea at second and third spots, respectively.

Manchester United will play their next Premier League encounter against Burnley on 30th August 2025.
