Yuzvendra Chahal claps back after Dhanashree levels cheating allegations against him
The row between ex-couple Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma refuses to lie low anytime soon. The Indian cricketer tied the knot with choreographer and influencer Dhanashree during the lockdown back in 2020. However, a little over four years into the marriage, Chahal and Dhanashree sought a divorce after an extended period of being separated. However, the drama has not ceased, with both of them going their separate ways. Chahal wore a 'be your own sugar daddy' t-shirt in his final divorce hearing. Meanwhile, it's now Dhanashree's turn to take part in the mud-slinging while she participates in a reality TV show.
"I'm a sportsperson, I don't cheat": Yuzvendra Chahal reacts to Dhanashree's allegations of 'cheating'
Dhanashree Verma is currently a part of "Rise and Fall", a reality show. The former wife of Chahal has often been seen discussing her married life and the ensuing drama on the show. One particular comment went viral on the internet recently, where the dancer was asked by another contestant, Kubbra Sait, about her relationship. Answering Sait's query, Dhanashree alleged that she caught the Indian cricketer cheating within just two months of their wedding.
"First year. Caught him in the second month," Dhanashree had answered after Sait asked when she knew the marriage was not going to work.
Dhanashree's sensational claim took the internet by storm, with the focus returning to the dramatic dynamics of her now-nullified marriage with Yuzvendra Chahal. Now, days after Dhanashree leveled the allegations against him, the Indian spinner has reacted to the accusation. Clapping back at his ex-wife, Chahal asked why the relationship lasted over four years if Dhanashree knew about him cheating on her within just two months. Further, in the latest interaction, Chahal claimed that he has moved on from the whole fiasco and advised 'everyone' to do the same.
"I am a sportsperson, and I do not cheat. If someone cheats within two months, would the relationship have lasted this long? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved forward with my life, and everyone else should do, too," Chahal said.
"Our marriage lasted 4.5 years. If cheating had happened within two months, who would have continued? I’ve said before that I’ve moved on from the past, but some people are still stuck there. Even now, many are holding on to that topic, their homes are still running on my name. I am not concerned or affected. And I have a feeling this is the last time I am addressing that chapter of my life," he added.
Yuzvendra Chahal has been linked with influencer RJ Mahvash for quite some time now. The cricketer and Mahvash were recently spotted in London together and continue to interact on social media publicly. However, both have categorically denied the claims of being in a relationship. When asked again in his latest interaction, Chahal reaffirmed that he is single, going on to express that he is not looking to 'mingle' as well.
"I am focusing on my life and on my game. I am single and not looking to mingle right now," he said.
