Yash Dayal hits back at sexual assault allegations, lodges an official complaint
Days after his name was smeared online, Yash Dayal has broken his silence on sexual assault allegations made against him. A woman took to social media, accusing the RCB speedster of assaulting her emotionally and physically under the pretense of marriage. In a series of posts, the woman called for justice, also alleging that the system was ignoring her complaints as Dayal is an influential personality. Now, as the truth remains out of the public sight, Dayal has launched into action. The cricketer has made his own set of complaints against the woman, taking the legal course to tackle the sensitive issue.
RCB star Yash Dayal files a counter-complaint against sexual assault allegations
A crucial prospect for RCB in IPL 2025, where the fan-favourites ended their 18-year trophy drought, Yash Dayal has landed in hot water. The speedster was named in a sexual assault case by a woman who accused the cricketer of misleading her under the pretense of marriage. Now, Yash Dayal has filed a counter-complaint with the Prayagraj police, following allegations made against him by a woman from Ghaziabad. In response, Dayal has requested the registration of an FIR, asserting that he was the victim of deceit.
In his complaint, the fast bowler claimed that the woman, who previously submitted a grievance against him on June 21 via the Chief Minister’s online IGRS portal, had stolen his iPhone and laptop and taken money from him on misleading grounds. According to Dayal, their acquaintance began on Instagram in 2021, and over time, they started communicating regularly.
Dayal has alleged that the woman borrowed large sums of money, citing medical expenses for herself and her family, with a promise to repay him, something she allegedly never fulfilled. Additionally, Yash Dayal claimed she frequently asked him for money for personal shopping, all under false pretences. He has reportedly submitted evidence to substantiate his claims.
Meanwhile, an FIR was registered against Dayal on Monday at Indirapuram police station following a preliminary investigation. The charges were filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to sexual activity obtained through deceit or false promises of marriage. As per the laws, the crime carries a punishment of up to 10 years in prison and a monetary penalty.
"He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage and introduced me to his family, who assured that I would be their daughter-in-law. I maintained the relationship with complete honesty and dedication," the woman alleged in her complaint against Dayal.
In her complaint, the woman also mentioned that the alleged events caused her to suffer from depression, for which she sought medical help. Dayal, however, has now urged authorities to file a counter FIR not only against the woman but also two members of her family, submitting a detailed three-page complaint in his defence.
"I tried to end my life many times because I couldn't get out of the mental pain, and he and his family kept giving me false assurances. His relationship with other women caused me deep mental trauma and broke me down," she had further added.
