The PBKS vs LSG IPL 2025 match started with Rishabh Pant winning the toss and opting to bowl first in the high-stakes match. Meanwhile, the captain named Akash Singh in the team. The pacer's inclusion means Ravi Bishnoi has lost a spot in the LSG Playing XI for the match at Dharamsala. While Bishnoi has been named in the impact subs list, Mitchell Marsh is poised to use the slot when the turn arrives for LSG to chase against the home team.

Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala. Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Akash Singh was handed his debut cap for Lucknow Super Giants. The 23-year-old was picked by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020 auction before heading to Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023 as an injury replacement for Mukesh Choudhary. He was later picked by LSG at his base price of ₹30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The pacer's debut in the LSG Playing XI for the PBKS vs LSG match, however, ruled out the space for spinner Ravi Bishnoi. The leg-spinner has picked up 9 wickets in 10 matches for LSG so far in IPL 2025. However, his contributions to the team in the ongoing season have been subdued so far. Punjab Kings, meanwhile, are playing the same team for the match against Lucknow at Dharamsala.
