Why is Glenn Maxwell not playing the RCB vs PBKS IPL 2025 match? Check PBKS Playing XI
Rain finally subsided in Bengaluru, allowing the RCB vs PBKS match to get underway. Though not heavy, the persistent drizzle at RCB’s home ground forced the match to be reduced to 14 overs per side. Once the covers were finally removed from the Chinnaswamy pitch, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first against the hosts. Following the toss win, Iyer provided an update on the changes in the PBKS Playing XI for the game. Glenn Maxwell misses out, with Marcus Stoinis returning to the side after missing the PBKS vs KKR match. For RCB, Devdutt Padikkal is left out as the team searches for their first home win of the season.

Six matches into the ongoing season, and Glenn Maxwell is yet to deliver a noteworthy performance for Punjab Kings. The Australian all-rounder has struggled to find form, recording low scores in game after game. However, it seems PBKS is ready to address the issue as the battle heats up in IPL 2025. Maxwell has been dropped from the Playing XI for the RCB vs PBKS match. In his place, spinner Harpreet Brar has been brought in to provide spin support on the rain-affected Chinnaswamy pitch. Additionally, Marcus Stoinis, another Australian enduring a tough run in IPL 2025, returns to the lineup after being left out of the PBKS vs KKR clash.
Across six matches, Maxwell has managed only 41 runs for Punjab Kings and picked up four wickets with the ball. Stoinis, on the other hand, has scored 59 runs in four innings. With rain already disrupting proceedings, Punjab will look to make the most of the slow conditions in Bengaluru as RCB continue their search for a first home win this season.
