Delhi Capitals are playing their last match of the IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, today. The Capitals were knocked out of the race for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians hammered them by 59 runs in their last game. Axar Patel’s team started the season strongly but couldn’t continue in the same vein, losing the plot in the second half. Nevertheless, they would be looking to finish the tournament on a high. But, sadly, their skipper Axar Patel continues to sit out for the clash.

For the unversed, the Indian off-spinner didn’t play the last game against Mumbai Indians as he was suffering from flu. He continues to recover from the illness. Faf du Plessis is, once again, leading the Delhi Capitals team in the absence of Axar Patel. In their last game, both batters and bowlers failed to make an impact. Sameer Rizvi was the top-scorer with 39 runs off 35 balls. Mukesh Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, returning with figures of 2 for 48. On the other hand, it’s an important game for Punjab Kings as a win will take them to the top of the points table. They have got two games left and if they manage to win both games, they will seal the number one spot.

Punjab Kings have been flying high in the competition this season. They are coming into this game on the back of a 10-run win over Rajasthan Royals. Nehal Wadhera played a top-class knock of 70 runs off 37 balls, including 5 fours and as many sixes.

Shashank Singh also continued his form as he gave his team a prime finish to the innings. Shashank made a valuable contribution of 59 runs in 30 balls. Punjab’s batting has been nothing short of sensational with five of their batters managing more than 250 runs each with a strike rate of over 150. The openers have provided explosive starts, while the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera have capitalized brilliantly. Shashank Singh has taken on the role of a finisher quite brilliantly.

Here are playing XIs of both teams:

Punjab Kings (Playing XI): Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Josh Inglis(w), Shreyas Iyer(c), Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Azmatullah Omarzai, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh
