The Indian team has once again defeated their so-called archrivals, Pakistan. This time, the victory came in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. Suryakumar Yadav & side defeated Pakistan by 61 runs at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. With this, India also confirmed their qualification in the second round—Super 8. The whole Indian nation is celebrating this victory over Pakistan. Several former Indian cricketers and cricket experts also praised the Indian team’s performance.
BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla also praised India's victory over Pakistan and showed great faith in the Men-in-blue's ability to advance further in the competition. Furthermore, he also pointed out that the Indian team will win the World Cup.
“Winning against Pakistan by such a huge margin, I think it is a huge achievement, and today I am fully confident that the way our boys played, we will win the World Cup as well,” said Shukla after the match.
“Sometimes Ishan Kishan performs, sometimes Abhishek performs, and all the boys perform. So we have such a strong team that we will definitely win the World Cup,” he concluded.
Rajeev Shukla was present at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, along with former Indian captain Rohit Sharma and ICC chairman Jay Shah. He witnessed the India vs Pakistan match, where India easily defeated Pakistan, and also celebrated India’s victory. Ishan Kishan became the player of the match for a match-winning knock of 77 runs off 40 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes.
With this comprehensive win, Team India has qualified for the Super 8. Suryakumar Yadav & side are currently at the top of the points table in Group A with 6 points in 3 matches, including 3 wins. They will play their last group stage match against the Netherlands on February 18 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
On the other hand, Pakistan is now in a do-or-die situation. They will play against Namibia in their last group stage match at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, on February 18. Salman Ali Agha will have to defeat Namibia to ensure their qualification in the Super 8. However, if they lose, they will be eliminated from the tournament.
