Yuzvendra Chahal admits to faking marriage with Dhanashree Verma

In a recent interview, Chahal finally opened up about the real reason behind the split with Dhanashree. He shared that despite their efforts to make the marriage work, differences between them had grown too wide to bridge. The decision to part ways, he said, was mutual and made with respect and understanding. Chahal emphasized that sometimes, personal peace and growth require difficult choices, and they chose to walk different paths for their own well-being. He requested fans and media to respect their privacy and focus on his professional journey ahead, rather than speculating on his personal life.

"Kaafi time se chal raha tha (It was going on for a long time). We decided that we don't want to show the people jab tak nahi ho jaata kyunki kya pata naa bhi hota (until it happens, because on the other hand, maybe we would not have separated). Humara yeh tha ki jab tak hum ek point pe jaa ke pahunchenge nahi (We decided that unless we decide), we are not going to say anything. We were like a normal couple on social media," stated Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in a recent podcast.

When asked if he had pretended that everything was fine in his marriage in the hope that things might improve and the decision to divorce could be reversed, Yuzvendra Chahal candidly admitted that he had. The cricketer nodded in agreement, acknowledging that he tried to put on a brave face and maintain the appearance of a happy relationship, even when things were falling apart behind the scenes. He shared that he held onto the hope that the situation might change for the better. However, over time, he realized that pretending couldn’t fix what was already broken. Accepting the truth, he said, was painful but necessary for both of them to move forward in peace and clarity.

In the interview, Yuzvendra Chahal offered a candid insight into what led to the breakdown of his marriage. Describing marriage as a “compromise,” the Indian cricketer reflected on how the inability to invest time in the relationship played a major role in creating distance. He admitted that both partners need to make adjustments to maintain a healthy bond, but when time and communication start to fade, the relationship begins to strain.

Chahal further elaborated that in many cases, no matter how much effort one puts in, the fundamental differences in personality and temperament can cause friction. He acknowledged that he and his former partner were often not on the same page emotionally or mentally, which led to misunderstandings and eventual disconnect. While he didn’t assign blame, he emphasized that mismatched energies and lack of compatibility are hard to overcome, especially in a demanding lifestyle like his. He aims to make a strong comeback if given a chance in the upcoming matches

"Chal hi raha tha do ek saal se (It was going for about 1-2 years). Jab woh roz hona start ho jaata hai na, fir banda kehta hai chhoro (When it starts happening every day, then one says to leave it)," Chahal concluded.
