[Watch] Rovman Powell makes the mistake of bowling to Pooran; gets dispatched for hat-trick of sixes
Nicholas Pooran is, unarguably, one of the most destructive batters in T20 cricket. Every opposition team knows that if he stays for a bit too long, he will take the game away effortlessly. The southpaw, once again, showcased his brutal hitting power in the 16th match of the CPL 2025 against Barbados Royals at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. Pooran hit three back-to-back sixes to skipper Rovman Powell in the 10th over of the innings. Powell came to bowl himself for one over, and he was treated with utter disdain. His first three balls was sent over the ropes effortlessly by Pooran.
The first two were quite short with no real pace, and Pooran wasn’t going to miss out on those. Powell decided to bowl from around the wicket but was met with a similar treatment. Pooran smashed him for three back-to-back sixes. The video has been circulating widely on the internet.

Pooran started the CPL 2025 season with a couple of modest outings but has found form in the last few games. He scored an unbeaten 23 off 11 in the last match against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Nicholas Pooran, Colin Munro star in Trinbago Knight Riders’ win over Barbados Royals.
Nicholas Pooran produced a brilliant knock of 65 runs off just 40 balls, including one six and six sixes. His unbeaten knock helped Trinbago chase down a 179-run partnership in just 17.5 overs. Colin Munro’s 67 off 44 was equally valuable in Trinbago’s seven-wicket win.
He switched a pivotal 93-run partnership with Pooran for the fourth wicket, which took the game away from Barbados Royals. Earlier, the latter managed to post a first-inning total of 178 runs in 20 overs on the back of Rovman Powell's 31 off 15 and Sherfane Rutherford’s 45 off 22. Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three for 37 in four overs. Trinbago Knight Riders earned their fourth win in the CPL 2025, thereby asserting their dominance at the top of the table. Barbados Royals, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win this season. In four games, they haven’t won a single game.
