For any good magician to succeed, all it takes is sleight of hand, some nimble fingers, and a bag full of tricks. You know exactly what the magician is about to do but he manages to fool you either way. And that's exactly what Mitchell Starc provides - an array of big booming inswingers, some toe-crushing yorkers and mastery of swing and seam, leaving batters confused and bamboozled. In his 100th Test, it was a privilege to see this pink ball magician at the peak of his powers once again, leaving the whole cricket world enthralled and excited for more to come.

In the third Test between West Indies and Australia, Mitchell Starc produced a spell from hell as he picked up a fifer off just 15 balls in the second innings, the quickest fifer ever in Test cricket. On a swinging minefield at Sabina Park, Starc produced a lovely inswinger that shaped away and got the edge of John Campbell’s bat. In the same over, Starc then trapped debutant Kevlon Anderson LBW, and then Brandon King was knocked over on the first ball. He picked up three wickets in his first over without conceding a run.

In his third over, he then got Mikyle Louis LBW with a big booming inswinger, and then followed that up with another inswinger to Shai Hope to complete his fifer. In the process, he got past 400 Test wickets as well, joining an illustrious list of Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, and Nathan Lyon. The tall left-arm pacer was unplayable in that second innings, as he showcased his pink ball mastery once again.

Scott Boland picked up a hat-trick later as he cleaned up the lower order, and then Starc returned to finish the innings, knocking over Jayden Seales. West Indies were bowled out for their lowest ever Test total of 27 runs—all thanks to the magical spell from Mitchell Starc.
