Watch: Faf du Plessis grabs a stunner to dismiss dangerous Bracewell in Major League Cricket clash
The second edition of the Major League Cricket continues to entertain fans across the United States and around the world. After Finn Allen broke records with 19 sixes in a single innings in the opening game, the second match delivered another highlight. At the Oakland Coliseum, the 40-year-old Faf du Plessis pulled off a screamer to dismiss the dangerous Michael Bracewell. Chasing a daunting target of 186, MI New York were reduced to 24 for 3 with some of their biggest names already back in the pavilion. Michael Bracewell remained unbothered by the collapse and started hitting boundaries all over the ground.
Just as the partnership looked threatening and was shifting the momentum towards MI New York, Faf du Plessis pulled off a moment of brilliance to swing the game back. In Adam Milne’s over, Bracewell attempted to hit a short delivery outside off towards mid-off. Faf Du Plessis went airborne and plucked it out of thin air at wide mid-off to dismiss the Kiwi for 38. It was a crucial turning point in the match.

As it happened:
Having won the toss, MI New York asked the Texas Super Kings to bat first at Oakland Coliseum. The opening pair of Devon Conway and Faf du Plessis did not take much time to get off the blocks. Both put up a 39-run stand before du Plessis departed. Devon Conway stuck around while wickets fell on the other end. Calvin Savage and Devon Conway forged the partnership for the sixth wicket to take the side to a total of 185.
In response, MI New York lost three wickets during the powerplay. Bracewell and Monank Patel steadied the innings with a 97-run stand to keep the chase alive. Kieron Pollard and Monank Patel then tried to take the game deep, but their dismissals in consecutive deliveries derailed the momentum. In the end, Texas Super Kings held their nerve to seal a four-run win and pocket two points.
