In a do-or-die fixture for the West Indies, the hosts piled up a mammoth 214-run total against Australia in St. Kitts on Friday. After claiming three Australian wickets for 61 in six overs, the game was evenly poised. Tim David walked out to bat and raced to 15 off just seven deliveries. However, Green’s wicket added some pressure as Australia lost four for 92 after nine overs. But, the next over saw Tim David smacking four consecutive sixes off Gudakesh Motie. The momentum shifted completely in just four balls, leaving West Indies fans utterly disappointed.
In the next over from Akeal Hosein, he smacked 6,4,6 to bring up his fifty in just 16 balls.

Tim David continued the carnage as he lit up the stadium with three more sixes and a four to bring up 23 runs from Roston Chase’s over. He then took Holder under his wing, smashing a six and a four. By that time, the game had completely gotten out of hands from the West Indies. The Australian batter smashed a four off the first ball of the 16th over of the innings to seal the win. He also brought up his maiden hundred with that boundary, reaching the feat in just 37 balls. As for the record, this is the fastest ever T20I hundred by an Australian batter.
Australia seal the five-match T20I series 3-0
After winning the Test series, Australia have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead over West Indies in the five-match T20I series. In the first T20I, a 189-run total did not prove enough for the hosts as Australia chased it down in 18.5 overs. Mitchell Owen made headlines with a match-winning 27-ball half-century in his debut T20I knock.
Led by Adam Zampa’s 3 for 29, Australia restricted West Indies to 172 in the second T20I. It turned out to be a cakewalk for the visitors as they chased it down in just 15.2 overs with Josh Inglis (78) and Cameron Green (56) making vital contributions.
Meanwhile, the fourth T20I is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Warner Park in St. Kitts.
