The India vs Bangladesh Test series ended up in a impressive win for the hosts. With most of the match being washed away, no one expected the second Test to produce a result. However, with just two days in hand, India registered a thumping win over the visitors in Kanpur. Bangladesh came to India with high hopes after completing a series whitewash over Pakistan. However, the dream was too far-fetched for Bangladesh to emulate against India. Now, as the red-ball series has concluded, a warm incident came up on the last day. Indian batter Virat Kohli presented Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Virat Kohli concludes India vs Bangladesh Test series with a heartwarming gesture for Shakib Al Hasan

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli offered a special gesture to veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The Kanpur Test is possibly the last match for Shakib Al Hasan in te longest format of the game. Right ahead of the start of the final match against India, the all-rounder announced his retirement from the format. The Bangladeshi ac expressed that he wishes to end his career in the Bangladesh vs South Africa series which is scheduled at his home turf. However, if the volatile political conditions in Bangladesh hinder the South Africa series, then the Test in Kanpur will be Hasab's last in Test cricket.

With the news of Shakib's retirement confirmed, Kohli came up with a heartwarming gesture. After the game's conclusion, Kohli gifted Shakib Al Hasan in a gesture to wish the Bangladeshi veteran for his Test farewell. Shakib's batting performance in Kanpur was disappointing, though he managed to claim four wickets with the ball in the first innings. Following the match, Kohli shared a light moment with Shakib during the post-match presentation and presented him with a signed bat, which brought joy to the Bangladesh legend.

Interestingly, Shakib had dismissed Kohli for 47 in the first innings when the Indian captain fell short of a half-century while attempting an aggressive shot. Before the Kanpur Test, Shakib had already mentioned that the upcoming series against South Africa would be his final appearance on home soil, provided he is given the opportunity. Otherwise, the series against India will serve as his farewell from Test cricket.
