Sunrisers Hyderabad beating Kolkata Knight Riders in style would have been touted as an event marking a full circle, if only it had happened in the playoffs. Nonetheless, the IPL 2024 finalists flipped the last final's scene when they rounded off against each other to conclude their IPL 2025 campaign in Delhi. The SRH vs KKR IPL 2025 match marked the end of the road for the defending champions and the runners-up from last year. Hyderabad brought up the blazing batting performance that was promised ahead of this season a bit too late, but a spectacle for the fans nonetheless. The ask of 279 in the chase was, anyway, a big demand of Kolkata Knight Riders, who lost their closing game by the momentous margin of 110 runs.

Season concludes for the IPL 2024 finalists with SRH vs KKR IPL 2025 match in Delhi

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, the loved 'Travishek', opening with a bang, Ishan Kishan leading in the middle, and Heinrich Klaasen closing with a bang: this was the template expected out of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. Ahead of the season's start, SRH looked like the only team fitting enough to breach the 300 mark in IPL 2025. The team started out as promised, with Ishan Kishan debuting in the orange with a century and SRH piling 286 runs against Rajasthan Royals in the campaign opener at home.

However, that was about it, as the spark burned out rather quickly. The batting order went into a collective slump as even 200, let alone 300, became a steep hill for SRH to climb. What followed was a 4-match losing streak. While Abhishek Sharma roared his comeback with a 141-run knock against Punjab Kings, striking at 256.36, SRH couldn't keep the wins coming consistently.

The opener picked up his form towards the conclusive phase. Yet, the team collectively never rose high enough to make it into the IPL 2025 playoffs. However, while the mid is a disappointing muddle, SRH ended IPL 2025 like how they started, in style, with a massive pile of runs. Closing the season with a bang, Hyderabad smashed 278 runs in the SRH vs KKR IPL 2025 match in Delhi.

Travishek finally dominate the powerplay together to mark a fitting conclusion to IPL 2025

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma kicked things off in style after Pat Cummins opt to bat first in the SRH vs KKR match at the compact venue in Delhi. The fireworks began early, in the trademark Travishek template as the pair took on Anrich Nortje in just the second over. Head continued the onslaught, punishing Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana to push SRH to 55 runs within the opening four overs. Abhishek joined the act a bit late but fittingly, closing the powerplay with 79 runs.

Heinrich Klaasen stars in the SRH vs IPL 2025 match with a blazing century

The real bashing for KKR bowlers, however, arrived with the arrival of Heinrich Klaasen, who came above Ishan Kishan at No.3. While Head kept the scoreboard ticking hitting a 26-ball fifty, Klaasen started his assault by hammering Varun Chakaravarthy for a six. Chakravarthy was punished again, hit for 20 runs in his secind over.

With no answers on hand, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane cycled through options, but none could stem the flow. Andre Russell was taken for 17 runs in an over, and Rana proved equally vain as Klaasen smashed a fifty off just 17 balls. Narine finally managed a breather in the 13th over, dismissing Head and conceding just one run. Yet, Klaasen remained unrestricted, taking SRH past 200 with more than five overs to go.

Ishan Kishan waited to set in while Klaasen continued the assault and smashed a 37-ball century. Kishan chipped in with a few boundaries before falling at 29 off 20 balls in the penultimate over. Klaasen’s onslaught, however, carried into the final stretch as well, as he dispatched Russell and Nortje to round off an imposing total of 278/3.

Harsh Dubey and Jaydev Unadkat curb any fight from Kolkata Knight Riders as Sunrisers Hyderabad close off with a monumental win

Chasing a monumental target, Sunil Narine started briskly for KKR, smashing three sixes and two fours off Cummins in the opening overs. But Jaydev Unadkat's off-cutter brought Narine's blitz to an end. Unlike the first innings, change of pace proved effective for the bowlers this time around. Rahane tried to keep the chase alive but fell in the sixth over, courtesy of Unadkat again.

Eshan Malinga struck in the seventh to remove de Kock, and Harsh Dubey made it worse for KKR, striking twice in the eighth over. Rinku Singh was caught in the deep before Dubey trapped Andre Russell in a LBW to dismiss the seasoned batter at a duck. Manish Pandey and Angkrish Raghuvanshi attempted to steady the innings, taking KKR to 81/5 by the halfway mark. But Malinga returned to break that stand too, as Raghuvanshi fell of a miscalculated hit. Dubey added a third scalp by bowling Ramandeep Singh, leaving KKR staring at defeat.

Harshit Rana tried to entertain, smashing two sixes off Abhishek Sharma. While the chase was all but lost, Manish Pandey added some flair, hitting three sixes off Malinga in a 21-run over. He and Rana combined for 52 off 22 balls before Jaydev Unadkat returned and struck again. The seamer removed Manish Pandey to make the closing statement in the SRH vs KKR match by removing the last standing batter. It was just a matter of minutes from there before Knight Riders bundled out as 168, losing their last fixture by 110 runs.
