South Africa make five changes for T20I series vs England
Cricket South Africa have announced squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of England, scheduled in November. England and South Africa will lock horns in three T20Is and as many ODIs from 2nd September to 14th September 2025. South Africa have made five changes to the squad that played in the recent T20I series in Australia. The likes of David Miller, Donovan Ferreria, and Keshav Maharaj are notable returnees to South Africa’s T20I squad. Marco Jansen and Lizaad Williams have recovered from their respective injuries. The duo also returns to the T20I squad.
Kagiso Rabada was part of the T20I series that recently took place in Australia, but missed the ODI series due to inflammation in his right ankle. He has been named in both the ODI and T20I series, but is expected to be available for some part of the ODI series.
Here’s what head coach Shukri Conrad said about Rabada:
"We'll reassess Kagiso in England. We are hopeful that he will be available for part of the ODI series, but we're prioritizing T20I cricket and will take a conservative approach. We won't rush him back”
Meanwhile, left-arm seamer Kwena Maphaka retains his spot in the ODI group as Rabada’s cover. Temba Bavuma will continue to lead the side in the ODI series, although his workload will be managed.
"We will also continue to manage Temba's workload during the ODI series in the same way we did in the ongoing series against Australia.
