The Indian team is currently on a tour to Ireland to play 2 T20I matches. The first match of the series will be played in Belfast on 26 June. This series will also be Shreyas Iyer's first series as a T20I captain, but just a day before this, Shreyas Iyer surprised all his fans by changing his bio on Instagram. He recently made a cryptic change to his Instagram bio, adding the line "Second D.O.B: 25/12/2025" despite his actual date of birth being December 6, 1994.

Iyer has not given any proper explanation as to why he did this. Fans have been wondering why this date is so special to Iyer, and why he chose the second DOB. Some fans even considered the date a glitch, while others believed Iyer may have made a typing mistake. Some fans tried to check his social media posts from December 25th of last year, but Iyer hadn't posted anything on that day, further fueling their curiosity.

However, after much speculation, it is being speculated that Shreyas Iyer had recovered from the life-threatening injury he suffered last year on 25/12/2025, and he was caught once again. Actually, he had suffered a spleen injury while attempting a catch during India's ODI series against Australia in October 2025. The injury resulted in internal bleeding caused by a spleen laceration and required immediate hospitalisation. He returned from the injury and performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, and then returned to the Indian team.

This is the explanation being seen by many users on social media till now on this date. Now it remains to be seen whether Shreyas Iyer's second DOB really means this, or if he is pointing to something else. However, Iyer has not yet responded to this post, which is increasing the curiosity of the fans.

Shreyas Iyer will now be seen in action in the T20I series against Ireland. After Ireland, he will also captain the team in a series of 5 T20I matches against England. Iyer is also an important member of the ODI team, which will play a 3-match ODI series against England from 14 July.
