Shane Watson tips his former team as the favorites to win IPL 2025
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson reckoned that the Royal Challengers Bangalore are destined to win 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. Watson also predicted that Virat Kohli will be awarded the 'Man of the Match' in the final. He made the prediction in a video on his 'X' account, on Wednesday. After enduring a 42-run defeat to SRH, the Royal Challengers Bangalore scripted a stunning six-wicket win in their last game against Lucknow Super Giants.
RCB bowlers have had tough outings, lately. But with Josh Hazlewood back for the playoffs, Shane Watson reckoned that RCB are favourites to win the IPL 2025 edition.
"The winner of IPL 2025, and I’ve been thinking long and hard about it, is RCB. And the Man of the Match for me is Virat Kohli, the great man. And here's the reason why. I just get a feeling that this is the time for RCB. They have had a few blips in the back end of the tournament, but with Josh Hazlewood coming back for the Playoffs, I get a feeling this is the year," Watson said on his X handle.
It really has been another incredible season of @IPL 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

The last time Royal Challengers Bangalore reached an IPL final was back in the 2016 edition of the competition. Interestingly, Shane Watson was part of that side and had a nightmare outing with the bowl. Waston was smacked for 61 runs in his four-over quota, including a 24-run final over.
oyal Challengers Bangalore sealed a top-two finish in IPL 2025 after beating Lucknow Super Giants in a high-scoring thriller on Tuesday. Rishabh Pant tore apart RCB's bowling as his unbeaten century powered LSG to a daunting 226-run total in the first innings.
RCB, however, staged a brilliant fightback with the bat, chasing down the target in just 18.3 overs. After Virat Kohli (54 off 30) laid the foundation in the run-chase, Jitesh Sharma produced a sensational knock of 85 runs in 33 balls to guide his team to a six-wicket win.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings will lock horns in a highly anticipated Qualifier 1, today in Chandigarh. The winner will earn a ticket to the final, while the losing side will play the Qualifier 2, scheduled for Sunday.
