Shah Rukh Khan’s Knight Riders unveils historic cricket stadium in Los Angeles

It is well known how much Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is passionate about cricket. He is also the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. Now he has recently achieved a feat on the global stage, which no one has been able to do till date. His franchise The Knight Riders Group, became the first global cricket brand to construct an international cricket stadium. This ground has been built in Los Angeles, USA, where Major League Cricket matches are being played. Shahrukh Khan has also shared a video on his Twitter related this new stadium. He said;
"What started as a dream has become a reality today. Bringing cricket, the second most-watched sport in the world, to Los Angeles is a landmark moment for all of us. Through this long-term partnership between Fairplex and Knight Riders, we are creating much more than a cricket venue. We are building a space that celebrates community, togetherness, energy and entertainment. It is a place built not just for sport, but also for entertainment, for families, and for memories that will last forever. We hope this becomes a home for cricket in Los Angeles and inspires generations of fans and players alike. This is for Los Angeles, for cricket fans across the globe, and for the Knight Riders family. Believe in Purple and Gold," he added.

This ground has been built to international standards and is set to host international matches in the future. Players and spectators alike will enjoy a magnificent cricketing experience here. Constructing this world-class stadium required the removal of over 32,000 metric tonnes of soil. Six floodlight towers, each 120 feet tall, have been installed at the venue, while the main square features eight wickets for play.
Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Sports, also expressed his delight. He stated;
"The Knight Riders Cricket Ground, LA is much more than a stadium; it is a statement of intent for the future of cricket. Becoming the first global cricket brand to establish an international cricket stadium is a proud milestone for the Knight Riders Group and reflects our belief that the growth of the game must be supported by world-class infrastructure. We wanted to create a venue that players would love competing at, fans would cherish visiting, and the local community could proudly call its cricketing home."
The Knight Riders Cricket Ground, Los Angeles is currently hosting Major League Cricket matches from July 1 to July 5.
During the 2024 T20 WC, A lot of group stage matches were conducted in USA’s Grand Prairie Stadium, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, and Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground. This Knight Riders Cricket Ground will be USA’s 4th international cricket stadium. This stadium is also considered important because cricket has also been included in the LA Olympics in the year 2028, and this stadium can now host several matches of the Olympics.
