However, providing an update on Rohit, the MI franchise stated that a final decision regarding his participation would be taken only at the time of the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“He continues to progress. Any call on his availability (in the game versus SRH) would be taken at the toss tomorrow,” an MI spokesperson said.

Rohit Sharma sustained an injury scare during the match against RCB on April 12, which forced him to retire hurt. In the four innings he has played so far, Rohit has scored 137 runs at an average of 45.66 and a strike rate of 165, a tally that includes one half-century.

The MI management is keeping a constant watch on his fitness, but they are unwilling to take any kind of risk regarding his physical condition. According to reports, Rohit's recovery is progressing well; however, it remains uncertain whether or not he will be included in the Playing XI at this stage.

In addition to Rohit's situation, the MI squad has also had to contend with the injury of Mitchell Santner, who has now been ruled out of the tournament.
