RJ Mahvash hits back at trolls for tainting the nature of her relationship with Yuzvendra Chahal

A radio jockey and an influencer, Mahvash has witnessed the influx of downgrading comments on her social media for a long time now. Following the separation of Yuzvendra Chahal from Dhanashree Verma, the cricketer was spotted with RJ Mahvash multiple times. The sightings led to speculations of the duo dating. However, what started as link-up rumors swiftly transitioned into trolls undermining Mahvash. Accusations of her being a gold digger and using Yuzvendra Chahal for fame have been rampant, becoming even more apparent during IPL 2025, when the influencer was seen supporting Chahal from the stands many times. After days of ignoring the nasty comments, Mahvash recently put up a video, directly taking aim at all the trolls and their aspersions.

In a new video, RJ Mahvash has responded to persistent trolling that attempts to discredit her achievements by attributing her success to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. Taking to social media, Mahvash released an elaborate video tracing her professional journey and highlighting how she carved her own path long before her name began appearing alongside Chahal’s.

The video opens with a screenshot of a comment that reads, “Yuzi bhai ne iska career bana diya” (Yuzi made her career). In reply, Mahvash says, “2019 se industry me hu, aao isse pehle ka apna career dikhati hu” (I’ve been in the industry since 2019; let me show you my journey before that). What follows is a montage showing her start with a production house in 2023 and her role in a film alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Next, she takes on another critical comment that mocks her presence in cricket spaces: “Cricket pitch tak pohach gayee ab to, cricket ke baare me kuch janti bhi hai ye?” (She’s made it to the pitch, but does she even know about cricket?). To this, Mahvash firmly replies, “Jab tu paida bhi nahi hua tha na chotu, tab se cricket shows host kar rahi hu. 2019 se main pitch pe hu. WhatsApp University ke forwarded messages mat paadha karo” (I’ve been hosting cricket shows since before you were born. I’ve been on the pitch since 2019, so stop believing WhatsApp forwards).

The video then cuts to her moments with cricketing legends like MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, Mohammad Kaif, Shane Watson, and Harbhajan Singh. She continues by addressing another accusation, one that claims her access to celebrities is thanks to Chahal. “Bade bade logo ke sath milne lag gayi hai ye to Yuzi bhai ki wajah se” (She’s meeting big names only because of Yuzi). Mahvash shuts this down by presenting photos with icons like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kartik Aaryan, and Vicky Kaushal. The overlay says, “This has been my life before.”

She also speaks about her creative work, mentioning she’s authored two books and starred as a lead in an OTT series. A rapid sequence then follows, showcasing her awards, accompanied by the voiceover, “Apne wardrobe me itne awards ki line mehnat se lagti hai bro, gold-digging se nahi” (I’ve earned my awards through hard work, not gold-digging).

Mahvash also touched on her equation with Yuzvendra Chahal, calling him a dear friend and reaffirming her support. “As far as Yuzi is concerned, I am super proud of him. Main poori duniya mein chilla chilla ke bolungi ki main jise janti hu vo super talented hai” (I’ll scream it to the world, he’s incredibly talented).

Speculation about a romantic link between RJ Mahvash and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up after they were seen together post Chahal’s split with ex-wife Dhanashree Verma. While Mahvash promptly clarified that they were just friends, frequent public outings, including one at the ICC Champions Trophy, fuelled more gossip. Mahvash has often posted in praise of Chahal’s cricketing performances, while Chahal has publicly called her his “spine.”
