Riyan Parag spotted vaping in dressing room during PBKS vs RR IPL 2026 match. WATCH VIDEO
Riyan Parag led-side Rajasthan Royals registered their 6th victory of the IPL 2026 season, defeating Punjab Kings in match 40 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. However, in between, a dressing room incident captured on camera, where skipper Riyan Parag was seen dragging a vape device. His teammates Dhruv Jurel, Yudhvir Singh Charak and Kuldeep Sen were sitting around him.
In India, possession of vaping products is prohibited under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act (PECA) 2019. An investigation will now be conducted into Parag regarding this matter. If found guilty, he could face a fine of ₹1 lakh, one year of imprisonment, or both.
This is not the first time this season that the Rajasthan Royals team has found itself embroiled in a controversy. Just a few days ago, a video of team manager Robin Bhinder using a mobile phone inside the dressing room also went viral. The use of mobile phones within the dressing room is strictly prohibited.

In the context of the match, Parag appeared visibly delighted following his team's victory against the Punjab Kings. Speaking after the game, he remarked, "I am pleased that we successfully executed the plans we had formulated before the match."
"As a team, what we have discussed, we achieved in this game. We could have restricted them to a lower score but the batters picked up the slack. Feel we could have bowled a few overs better here and there, and batted better. You are never going to get 40 overs (of perfect cricket) but our preparation has to be to play 40 overs of good cricket," he said.
Riyan Parag lauded the approach adopted by his batsmen during the run chase and expressed his delight at their success in chasing down such a formidable target.
“Concerns were from everyone else. It was their concerns, not our concerns. When the middle order does not fire, the top three have to pick it up. When they fail to fire (or play at a slower rate), we have to pick them up. All the worries were from the outside, not from us", Parag added.
He heaped praise on the batting performances of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, stating that the duo had perfectly set the stage for the chase. Furthermore, he noted that the manner in which Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Dubey finished the match in the closing stages would undoubtedly serve to further boost the team's morale.
"Plan was to keep wickets in hand and not fall behind the run-rate, they (Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi) made our jobs easier for us. After the powerplay, we got behind a little bit but picked it up again. (On Dubey) He and Don - the way they played, they took it away from Punjab. Felt they would bowl a few more slower," he concluded.
With this victory, the Rajasthan Royals have 12 points in 9 matches. They need 2 more wins to confirm their spot in the playoffs. They will take on the Delhi Capitals in their upcoming cricket match on May 1st at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur. On the other hand, PBKS faced their first defeat of the season. They will next face the Gujarat Titans on May 3 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
