Riyan Parag named RR captain for IPL 2026
Riyan Parag will lead the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026. His promotion comes after the departure of Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Last season, he also led the side in 8 matches when Sanju Samson missed those matches due to injury.
Riyan Parag made his IPL debut in 2019 for Rajasthan Royals. Since then, he has been continuously associated with the RR franchise and is an important member of the team. Some reports also suggested that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja were also contenders for the captaincy, but ultimately, Riyan Parag was chosen as the captain.

After the departure of veteran head coach Rahul Dravid from RR, RR has now appointed Kumar Sangakkara as its new coach.
