RCB set up support fund and announce monetary aid for families of stampede victims
The celebration of their maiden IPL title victory was marred by a tragic incident in Bengaluru for RCB. The fan-favorites beat Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad to lift the IPL 2025 trophy, their first in the league after a wait of 18 long years. Ecstatic about the win, a victory parade was announced in Bengaluru on Wednesday, just a day after the triumph in Ahmedabad. Chaos followed soon after as confusion hindered the celebration schedule in Bengaluru. The parade was canceled, but a felicitation ceremony still fared with the team in attendance at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. With frenzied RCB fans turning up in lakhs near the venue, a stampede occurred as scenes turned deadly in Bengaluru.
10 Lakh compensation announced by RCB for the families of the Bengaluru Stampede victims
The stampede around Chinnaswamy Stadium during the victory celebration of RCB has reportedly taken 11 lives. Many have been injured as a sorry picture of mismanagement emerged from Bengaluru. There are multiple questions plaguing the IPL 2025 victory celebration by the team. The BCCI has expressed disappointment but denied any role in the procession. Moreover, the franchise and the KSCA have landed under fire for continuing with the celebration despite the dire situation outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Hours after the tragedy in Bengaluru, RCB released a statement expressing their solidarity with the victims. In a note shared late on Wednesday night, the team mourned the loss of lives in the Bengaluru stampede. The same note was shared by multiple RCB players, including Virat Kohli. Now, while the scrutiny builds around the utter failure of the system, RCB has announced monetary aid for the families of the victims affected in the stampede.

The BCCI, the IPL Chair, and the KSCA have engaged in mud-slinging over the incident, with each denying accountability. The government has rightfully borne the brunt for the lack of preparation to handle such a large turnout at the venue. Meanwhile, a day after the tragic incident, the franchise has announced โน10 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased. Along with monetary aid, RCB has also formed a support fund, the 'RCB Cares'.
